Think LA and Hollywood, Disneyland, star struck tourists and wannabe actors, models come to mind. Glamour is just a part of the big picture. LA offers the best in culture, cuisine, art, architecture, landscapes and music. Tourist season is between March and May and again between September and November.

The Los Angeles International Airport is where all airlines touch base. The Greyhound connects LA to other points nationwide while the national rail system, the Amtrak is available from Union Station in Downtown LA.

Sightseeing includes celebrity tours and shows at museums and the mesmerizing Walt Disney Concert Hall. Hollywood Bowl with its musical soirees in summer is a listener’s delight.

LA is renowned for team sports: basketball and baseball. Surfing in Malibu, hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains, downhill skiing in the San Bernardino National Forest, lazing on beaches at Santa Monica, Venice, Manhattan and Zuma or biking between Santa Monica and Torrance Beach..there is something for everyone.

LA hosts numerous events: the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Years Day, followed by the Chinese New Year in February and the Academy Awards in March. The Blessing of the Animals ceremony in April and the Cinco de Mayo in May, the LA fest for gays and lesbians in June and the Jazz Festival, Blessing of the Cars and the International Surf Festival. The LA County Fair, the Hollywood Christmas parade in November and the candle-lit processions replicating Mary and Joseph’s Bethlehem sojourn in December signal the end of the year.
