If you desire the glamor and the affluence, the sun and the sands, the nature and the beaches, fly down to San Diego. Never ending coastlines, sun kissed beaches and a beautiful climate makes it a dream location for a holiday. Throw in some museums, zoos, nature parks and the quintessential tourist can have his fill too.
Given that it is blessed with a great climate, San Diego is open for a visit any time of the year. A sun tan may be a good idea between May and October but surfing is an activity reserved between September and November when the Santa Ana winds are at play.
San Diego’s Lindbergh Field (SAN) airport receives few international flights. Most would touch down at Los Angeles. Regularly plying municipal buses, shuttle buses and taxis along with easily available limo service providers and rental cars make conveyance convenient. The Greyhound bus service connects San Diego to Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tucson, El Paso among others. The Amtrak connects it to LA and then on to Santa Barbara.
Sightseeing includes the Old Town State Historic Park, the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum, San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld and ofcourse the Point Loma from where you can see the Gray whales migrating along the coast between January and April.
Annual events comprise of the Ocean Beach Kite Festival, the American Indian Cultural Days, the Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off followed by the US Open Sandcastle Competition, the San Diego Street Scene festival and the Harbor Parade of Lights.
