San Francisco Joys
The high brow and the hoi polloi, the genteel and the aspirational, all come together in San Francisco. Winding streets, renowned bridges and blue bays make this a city worth visiting. Good food, throbbing nightlife, views to kill for are some of the simpler joys of life made available in ‘Cisco. The calendar is full of events throughout the year but the best time would be between September and November.
San Fran has three airports; San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Oakland International Airport (OAK) and San Jose International Airport (SJC). There are regular shuttles, the BART system, San Francisco limousines and taxis. The Greyhound and Amtrak offer long distance conveyance.
Sightseeing is a treat for all tourists given the scenic beauty and amazing viewpoints. Be it history, art, nature parks or architecture, there’s something for everyone.
Activities here include Sailing between April and August, Swimming at Aquatic Park, Surfing in Ocean Beach, Walking in downtown San Francisco or the Golden Gate Park, Jogging through the Presidio, Cycling or Roller skating at the Justin Herman Plaza.
Events are kicked off with the Chinese New Year followed by the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Japanese quarter of the city. The International Film Festival the oldest n the country is held in April while the Carnival is celebrated in May. June sees the Gay pride Week and the Gay Freedom Day Parade, the Dyke March and the Pink Saturday party. Halloween in October has pumpkin lanterns and masked revelers playing trick or treat on the streets
